Red Hot and Studded

Ahh, Monday.

I actually styled this work outfit around these bad ass shoes. Nothing says tough like metal and studs, especially on a pair of shoes...particularly on a pair of COMFORTABLE sky high wedges!  Add some hot red on the lips, legs and upper body, and you've got yourself one literal red hot ensemble.

Turquoise Glitter Eyes- Makeup Tutorial

Hello lovelies,

I posted some pictures last week showing you all what I wore to my friend's 30th Birthday bash. That particular post discussed head chains more so than the makeup however, several of you reached out to me interested in the products I used and how I applied. Well, good thing I recorded myself "beating my face."  If you are interested on the look, please click the vid below and watch the YouTube tutorial.

Living Art

Today I am wearing my new cream blouse with antique gold sequin collar and cuff from Romwe.   I chose this great mural as my back-drop.  How fitting, a simple wall jazzed up with art compared to my simple blouse jazzed up with sequins. Coincidence! As I was posing; I bumped into the artist-Lesny Jn Felix.  He was actually in the process of extending the mural on the far side unbeknownst to me.  I had an opportunity to chat with him and express to him just how dope I thought his art was.

Because I was toned down in gold, cream and black, I opted to add a pop of color with my eye makeup. I am loving Sephora's electric blue liquid eyeliner.

Channeling my inner Cleopatra

Head Chains!

Lately, I've been seeing more and more head chains surfacing from various designers and etsy stores. I personally think they are adorable and a simple way to make a huge statement.  Not many accessories can transition from a laid back look (hobo-chic ) to a dramatic twist if you're going for more of a Cleopatra inspired or exotic look.

This past Saturday, I implemented this piece to my ensemble.  Initially, I purchased it as a way to camouflage my frizz since I had straightened my natural hair in preparation of my home-girl's 30th birthday celebration.  I didn't plan on wearing a necklace since my dress was a patterned asymmetrical knee length piece that really didn't need much.  My head chain served 2 purposes- downplaying my frizz and bringing an almost exotic look to my outfit.  I only wore stud earrings and a gold watch. Along with turquoise glitter eyes and a nude lip, I was ready to party.

Sorry for picture quality, all of us forgot to bring our cameras so phone camera pics only. Womp!

Post party- looking done and sweated out lol.

What are your thoughts on head chains? Would you rock them?

1 Blouse 2 Looks

Have you ever owned that one item that seem to go with everything?  You reach out for it when aiming to dress up or down; it even becomes your go-to piece on days when you're really not trying to go all out.  Well that is such the case with my navy and mustard polka dot blouse. It seems to go with so many looks-from a bright neon silk skirt to a mocha bodycon skirt, to leggings, to dark denim skinny jeans as well.
