As a blogger, the most challenging feat is finding a nice background to take your pictures besides finding an actual person to be your blogtographer. As a result, you end up using any opportunity that surfaces-stairwell, living room, train station, or as below, an operating room as your backdrop.

Lately, I've become more and more enthusiastic about cold weather accessories, particularly hats. Something about a good structured hat added onto an ensemble brings instant chic. I was channeling my inner cowgirl with this fit minus the chaps. In keeping with the holy grail of Fall oxblood trend, are my faux leather pants which is the best purchase I've made this season.
Close-up of my DIY
Green see through sweater (Old Navy), Oxblood faux leather pants (H&M), Platform boots (Jeffrey Campbell), Hat (local store), Leather sleeve coat (BEBE)
After two weeks of hurricanes and snowstorms, a much needed and appreciated sunny day made its way to NYC yesterday. I took full advantage of it wearing the ensemble below. I went back to basics with keeping the color scheme in black and white but playing with different patterns (polka dots and pleather). I like the baseball tshirt spin on the sweater not to mention the cute as a button polka dots platforms I scored off clearance.
Special thanks to the Brooklyn muse for the pics
Baseball T style sweater.........................SammyDress
Pleather pencil skirt................................Payhalf
Polka Dots platforms..............................Marshalls (clearance $15!)
Leather sleeve wool coat.........................BEBE
Navy faux rhinestone necklace................Children's Place (my daughters)
I adore collar necklaces and have decided to build up my collection beginning with this beauty from Romwe. I love that its a different spin from the standard collar necklace, with its metal lace design and antique gold finish. Not to mention, it's relatively inexpensive at under $16. Style Tip: Sport it under a closed collar blouse preferably in a graphic print for that added pizzazz (like I did here).
Dark vamp lips have been all the rage this season. Having never been a fan of a dark lip, I opted to get out of my comfort zone and try it. This particular shade is called "Panther." Being that the focus point was my neck and lips in today's ensemble, I thought it would be befitting to wear my newest sweater.
Wore this ensemble few days before Hurricane Sandy hit. So weird that just two weeks ago, I was able to go outside with just a sweater and today, I'm bundled up with coat, hat, gloves and scarf. Gotta love the East Coast! In any event, these snake print loose pants are ideal for laid-back days especially ending with dinner plans (wink wink).
If you follow my FB page, you would have seen my post last week about Hurricane Sandy. For those who aren't aware, I live in NYC and several of our areas were devastated during this natural disaster. Needless to say, my motivation to post about clothing, style, etc was nonexistent and replaced with the motivation to keep my home in order. In any event, as with many trials and tribulations, I've overcome and resurfaced. I've compiled some pictures below, NOT of the ripped apart trees and ruins, but of things all things CurvEnvy related.
My latest purchase, my BEBE wool and leather sleeve coat. Absolutely loving this!! Brings an instant chic spin to any ensemble. I adore the skirted bottom as well.
Out trying to find the perfect wedge sneaker. So far, F.A.I.L
Been loving knitted and wool turbans for winter. This particular one from H&M and under $8! Comes in myriad of colors ladies.
Tried the ombre hair again this week while sporting that Oxblood trend.
I tried my hands on this DIY. Original shirt nearly $300, my version came to around $7!!!
Prior to. How amazing are these Spiked leggings! Get yours from Romwe. I recorded an outfit of the day around them, let me know if I should upload.
That's about it lovelies. Thank you for the personal emails and Facebook messages checking up on me. I really truly wholeheartedly appreciate all of them.
