RED

Black History Month
Valentines Day
American Heart Disease Month

What do all these events have in common?  They're all synonymous with the month of February; my favorite month of the year.  One does not have to be a fan of Valentines Day to be a fan of your heart, particularly women.  Did you know that heart disease is the number 1 killer of women today in the United States?!  Pretty amazing considering the number of breasts cancer, ovarian cancer and the like crippling our mothers, sisters, grandmothers, aunts and friends.  Coincidentally, the color red represents heart, confidence, strength, power-all attributes that can be found within each and every one of us including the women battling these horrific diseases.

In my efforts to represent this National Wear Red Day, I've attempted an all-red monochromatic ensemble.

Details: Blazer (Thrifted); Button down (American Eagle Outfitters); Jeans (Forever21); Studded pumps (Zara).

So even if you do not have a Valentine this Valentines Day, love yourself enough to take precaution against Heart Disease. Click HERE for tips.
