Camo & Chanel

Being back at work after a 4day weekend is always hard. The bright side is, at least the work week is cut short. ((cheers to seeing the silver lining)). I had a pretty laid back weekend. I FINALLY watched the episode of Wendy Williams I modeled on.  I also spent time with my mini-me and the bf. On Sunday, I brunched with some of my favorite college buddies catching up on life and our new year resolutions.

I decided to go casual-with flat ankle booties, denim and leggings. It's amazing how, over the last few years, leggings have become a necessary norm to every woman's wardrobe. I adore leggings especially those with patterns, panels and cut-outs.  Here, I wore my camouflage leggings with faux leather panels. Because the pattern is busy, I opted to keep my top neutral, picking denim button down.  Makeup was basic-lashes, liner, blush and red lips.

Look Mom, I'm on TV

Happy Friday!!

So happy it's the end of the week but oh, what a week it's been! If you follow me on facebook or instagram, you would know that I made my first television appearance as a model for a fashion segment on the Wendy William's Show yesterday.  I received so much support and love from you guys through my social networks that I felt that you all were riding right along with me.  I've met so many great people from the producers, Anthony and Stephanie to the other models, Sophia, Gresly and Yorleny who made the experience, that much special. Of course, Wendy, herself was undeniable pleasant and cordial and not to mention, has the smallest waist eva! "How ya doin Wendy!"

I must mention that Lauren, the stylist assistant, was a doll and so sweet and accommodating   Lilliana Vazquez, the stylist, was great and I hope she know's that she has a gem by her side, in Lauren.  After the show, my cousin, Jen, my guest, and I went to the Chanel store and lunched before I ran to an appointment.

Oddly enough, I haven't seen the show yet as it was recorded live but thanks to some real supportive friends and DVR, I have my picking as to where to watch it at.  If you're interested in the details of my look or anyone of the other models,  follow this link.

Happy Weekend Lovelies!

Blush

Happy Tuesday Lovelies,

I always believed that the perfect shade of nude on brown skin is Blush. It's pinky tones are warm enough for our complexions and nude shade brings that universal pairing ability. In any event, I recently scored this amazing Forever21plus tuxedo blazer off clearance. Yes, I am still following my "living within my means" moto from late last year.  In addition to that, I stumbled upon a sale at the Gap, and purchased the 1969 stretch jeans (very curve friendly). Style is NOT just for the skinny nor does it have to cost a lot.  My whole look is under $100, including shoes!!

High-Waist Pants on Highly Curved Body

How amazing are these houndstoothbottoms?  I love a bold print and these pants definitely fit the bill. I love the fact that they’re high-waisted, soft and extremely stretchy-perfect for accentuating those curves ladies!!  I see myself wearing them with a brightly colored top (button-down, turtleneck mock top, tank, etc) and pair of pumps/platforms or flats for a more relaxed look.  I love transitional pieces especially those that work in pretty much all seasons.  Ladies, do not hesitate on this purchase.  Believe me when I tell you, you will not be dissatisfied. (I have it in a 1x).

Sizing
These knit pants are from Iheartposh shoppe.  Posh Shoppe is a plus size online store based out of California.  They have great trendy pieces for women, sizes 1x and up.  Not only was this my first dealing with this great company, but it was my first time ordering plus size clothing online EVER.  I am what many would refer to as an “In-betweenie”-too big for most straight size clothing yet too small for most plus size clothing.

With that being said, I wasn’t sure if their 1x truly fit like a 1x or more like an xl, and the same for the 2x.  In other words, I wasn't sure if I should size up or down.  Therefore, I chose 1 item in an 1x and the other in a 2x to give me an idea as to the sizing to go with, going forward.  Result- I am definitely not a 2x and the 1x is a tad bit loose but not anything I can’t work with.  Oh, for those wondering, I am generally a size 12/14.

Little Something Special

Alas, the end to my holiday looks series. I gave you metallic here, sequins here, and now, studs and chains. What can I say-I love a good embellishment.  I purchased this dress from Forever 21 plus and fell in love, not only because it has the belly friendly ruching detail in the bodice, nor the silver accents on the shoulders, but because amidst it's design perfection, I scored it off clearance!!!!

Cheers to the New Year!

Here is yet another holiday ensemble featuring this amazing multi-colored sequins skirt from Romwe.  I wanted the focus to be on the bottom so I opted for a soft shade above accomplished through a sheer lace blouse from H&M. I wore the black version here.

Note: The skirt is "one size fits most" on the Romwe website but  is extremely stretchy. To give you an idea, I'm regularly a size 12/14.
